Description Abstract This is a polygon coverage of the Major Ecosystems of Alaska map unit boundaries delineated by the Joint Federal-State Land Use Planning Commission for Alaska in 1973 at 1:2,500,000-scale. Purpose This data will be used primarily to display the location of Major Ecosystems of Alaska at a state-wide scale. It is not recommended for local or regional analysis due to the small scale of this coverage. Supplemental_Information Procedures_Used The original version of this digital coverage was generated by the US Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Research Laboratory, Corvallis, Oregon, around 1991.
