Permafrost

Description

This dataset consists of a georeferenced digital map and attribute data derived from the publication "Permafrost map of Alaska". The map is presented at a scale of 1:2,500,000 and shows the correlation of physiographic province to presence of permafrost across the state of Alaska.

Background

This data set was prepared under the U.S. Geological Survey Global Change Program, Land Data Systems - Arctic Land Process Studies. The information is preliminary and has not been edited or reviewed for conformity with U.S. Geological Survey standards or nomenclature.
