KUSKO_RIV is a polygon coverage of the Kuskokwim River which was
digitized from the 1:63360 quadrangle maps.
The coverage KUSKO_RIV was created as part of cooperative program with the Army Corps of Engineers in 1996. The Corps was looking at the Kuskokwim River to determine if additional navigation aids might be necessary.
Procedures_Used:
The main channel of the Kuskokwim River was digitized from it mouth to its headwaters from USGS 1:63360 quadrangle maps. For each map the tic marks were digitized and once the RMS error was 0.005 or less, the left and right banks of the Kuskokwim River were digitized. When the main channel of the Kuskokwim River was digitized from all the appropriate quadrangles, the quadrangles were merged and rubbersheeted to form one coverage.
